Jesus Christ is Coming to Kick Ass

Many people think of Jesus as a meek and humble man. In many ways He was. However Jesus was also a "bad ass" in many ways as well, and He's coming back on this earth to kick some ass.
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword." - Matthew 10:34
Are you unhappy with the state of this world? Are you sick of corruption, the moral decay of society and the litany of blue and white collar crimes that seem to go unpunished? If you are, then welcome to Jesus' world!

However, if you think the world isn't all that bad and if you're just happy to go along with the way everything is, then you're in real trouble according to the bible.
"You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." - James 4:4

God isn't satisfied with the current status quo of this world and He's planning on coming to make war with it. In fact, during the battle of the last days in Revelation 19:13, his robe is drenched with the blood of his enemies!

If you still doubt Jesus is willing to kick ass. Read John 2:15-17:
And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

This made the Pharisees and the authorities of the temple at the time furious! But so many people regarded Jesus that the rulers were afraid to do anything immediately. Instead, they secretly plotted to kill him using cowardly means.

Most people today think of themselves as good people. And I won't deny that there are very good, well intentioned non-christian people living today. However God's standard of goodness is sinless perfection. When He comes back to judge humanity, he'll not only scrutinize what we did, but even our thoughts and every hidden motive we had behind our deeds, good and bad (1 Corinthians 4:5). God's standard is so high, that He equates looking at a woman lustfully with adultery (Matthew 5:28) and considers hating your brother akin to murder (1 John 3:15).

And according to this level of judgement, if you had even sinned once, you fall short of God's glorious standard (Romans 3:23). As a result, God considers you good for nothing, not even the manure pile (Luke 14:35). The only place for those who die in their sin is the trash heap of the universe-- eternal damnation in hell (Romans 6:23). Every sin from smallest to biggest is an abomination to God, and He can't stand to have it in man whom he made in his very own image (Genesis 1:27).

However, there is hope. We live in a time bible scholars coin as the "age of grace".  God has offered terms of peace, and his terms are this: surrender your life to the Lord Jesus by coming into agreement that He is your Lord-- and not just in some aspects of your life, otherwise he's not really your Lord -- but in everything. And believe that God has raised from the dead (Romans 10:9).

After you've done this and cried out to God to come into your life, Jesus will come to even make his home in you and you will be born again.
Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them." - John 14:23
No longer will God see the sin in your past life, but through the shedding of Jesus's blood on the cross, He'll see His perfect son Jesus instead.  In doing so, He'll 'pass over' your sins (this is the true meaning of the seven day holiday Jews celebrate known as passover). There's power in the blood of Jesus, not only to forgive sins, but to release people from the power of sin.

Despite Jesus being a bad ass, and despite how evil humanity became, God still loved man so much that He was willing to put His own son Jesus to death so he could pave the way to salvation for man (John 3:16). Jesus offers you the gift of eternal life today-- the greatest prize anyone could ever receive. It can't be purchased with any amount of money, but it can be received if you open your heart to Him and cry out for salvation (Romans 10:23).
